I'm 24 hours into fasting. Not the first time I'm doing it, but the first time in a while. Gonna go for 36 hours, until tomorrow morning. I'm about to go sleep, after not eating since last night. Going to bed without dinner, that's the hardest part for me. But I know that tomorrow morning it'll feel great and I'll be grateful that I didn't give in to the eating temptation.

I've been to several conferences that are explicitly Bitcoin-only. I've been to conferences that are specifically Bitcoin focused but which featured conversations around things like stable coins. And I've been the Bitcoin conferences where organizers pragmatically accepted that shitcoins pay good money for advertising. But I've never been to a conference where the focus is specifically not on Bitcoin, but on crypto, web3 and blah, blah, blah.. Tomorrow will be a first. I'm talking on a panel titled: Bitcoin Payments in Africa. Hopefully it tickles some curiosity.

I didn't realize how early we are here. As I understand it, Nostr is only 4 years old, and development has only really been happening, in earnest, for about two years. In Bitcoin terms, we're in like 2011 to 2013. And maybe it's just me, but using Nostr today, it already feels better, in terms of accessibility for a relatively non-technical person, compared to Bitcoin in 2013.

I'm having dinner and sitting next to @Derek Ross and I suddenly understood that I haven't been using Nostr often enough. I will use Nostr more often.

The crew arrived in Jeffrey's Bay, South Africa's crown jewel of surfing. They're there to compete in the South African Junior Surfing Championships, the most prestigious junior event on the calendar. Two of our kids qualified for this year's event. Many years of hard work is about to be put on display. And many people will ask about the orange Land Cruiser and Bitcoin.

Imagine being only 6 years old and already skating like this. 🤯

Spent an hour yesterday driving around looking for a wave to surf, not because there weren't any waves, there was plenty, but because there weren't any people surfing. And, sometimes, being the only human in the line-up just feels a bit sketchy...

These kids have been shredding waves for years. Soon they gonna shred the Bitcoin Bowl. It's all still a little new, we only just finished building it, but watch this space...
