Give @Thinus Mouton a follow, he's been working non-stop for three months, renovating The Surfer Kids HQ, which serves as the platform we're using to build a circular #Bitcoin economy.
Plus lots of very exciting projects coming up for The Surfer Kids & Bitcoin Ekasi, where he'll be overseeing operations, including a complete revamp of the kids' Diaz Beach skatepark.
The dude is an absolute legend when it comes to execution of complex projects!

Building a Bitcoin circular economy in a South African township | Partnering with The Surfer Kids | Inspired by Bitcoin Beach.
It's ironic that the cause of many of the world's problems (excessive government spending) will also likely be the most popular solution offered by politicians in years to come.
Humankind is hopelessly drunk on fiat, doesn't want the party to stop, and is demanding more booze despite being too incapacitated to even get up, never mind walk straight.
#Bitcoin and freedom of speech go hand in hand.
You cannot transact freely if you cannot also communicate freely.
Which is why I absolutely love how the Lugano Plan B Forum placed such a big emphasis on both. Particularly on the fight to free Julian Assange.
Censorship anywhere is reprehensible. But it's particularly insidious when it's carried out by governments who, in act of reprehensible hypocrisy, carry out the worst types of censorship while preaching freedom of speech to others and label as authoritarian any regime that doesn't live up to ideals they themselves only pay lip service to.

Just arrived in Lugano, for the PlanB Forum, in time to see Julian Assange's family, John Shipton, @Gabriel Shipton and @Stella Assange talk about their ongoing fight to free Julian.
I'm inspired by people, who against the strongest adversaries imaginable, continue fighting for freedom and truth.
Julian's prosecution is an attempt to scare people, who may otherwise speak out, into not upsetting the status quo of the world's power structures.
But that is precisely what needs to happen for a better future to emerge.

Heading to Lugano tomorrow for the PlanB Forum.
@LuthandoSABTC🇿🇦 looks contemplative going into his first public talk, at his first #Bitcoin conference, on his first trip outside South Africa.

In Zurich, at the top of Grossmunster Church, headed to Lugano tomorrow for PlanB Forum.

If you bought #Bitcoin because you thought an ETF was approved and then sold it because you found out it wasn't, then you definitely don't understand Bitcoin and/or the reasons for buy and (not) selling it.
Go do some homework.

So happy, I almost jumped out of my chair yesterday when I figured out how to look at the raw data of a #Bitcoin UTXO and 'read', or decipher, the value of the transaction in sats.
And yes, I can confirm, it is denominated in sats.

Using ThunderHub, is there an easy way to check whether there's a path between peers, for re-balancing channels, without manually trying different combinations?
I'm learning to run a #Bitcoin lightning node. It's a slow and ongoing process, but there's lots of progress.
The idea being that this becomes the organization's primary means of making all financial transactions. Eventually.

In less than a week we depart for LuganoPlanB !!!
It'll be the first time that @LuthandoSABTC🇿🇦 flies on a plane and travels outside South Africa...
And it'll be the first time he presents in front of a real audience.
He'll be talking about the challenges and successes of onboarding shops in the township to accept #Bitcoin as payment. And he should know. He's the man who onboarded most of the township spaza shops, beginning in Aug 2021.
He's been working for The Surfer Kids since 2019 and was the organization's only remaining full-time staff member following the covid lockdowns.
When we launched Bitcoin Ekasi (as a subsidiary project of The Surfer Kids) it was just me and him.
He's got an interesting story to share and he's been practising his presentation every day, for several weeks.
@⚡🔋jesse_hodl 🫵🏄♀️ thank you for the help with preparations, wouldn't have gotten this far without it.
We are definitely ready to rock-n-roll!
🤘🧡😎
Super excited for this!!

An uncensorable communications protocol needs an uncensorable monetary protocol, and vice versa. Looking at where the world is headed, I don't think one can win without the other.
If he didn't know before, then I think it's safe to say that South Africa's top professional surfer, and WSL Championship Tour veteran, Jordy Smith, now knows at least two things:
1.
#Bitcoin is a thing.
2.
It's colour is orange.

If you say you want to "end racism" you should stop assuming that other people are racist based on... race. That is, well, racist.
People who use the words 'conspiracy theory', 'misinformation', 'disinformation', 'malinformation', etc., etc., to dismiss ideas they don't want to consider (because the implications are too scary to even contemplate) are going to find it increasingly difficult to make sense of this world.
I'm not religious, at least not in the traditional sense of the word, but I do think we're living in a sort of 'end-of-times' scenario, where great 'revelations' are imminent.
(Except the world doesn't end and there's a bright future ahead.)
Two things are blatantly obvious, if you pay any attention whatsoever:
1.
Potentially true information is being suppressed (in various ways by various people) if it does not serve the dominant narrative.
2.
But, eventually, truth always prevails.
Absolutely love this one, freshly painted by @LuthandoSABTC🇿🇦 and crew!
The dung beetle is the perfect metaphor for #Bitcoin mining powering mini-grids in #Africa.
Love what the people at Gridless is building! @Erik Hersman

Working on it. This is gonna be a good one. Stay tuned for end result.

#Bitcoin is a test of faith in human conscience.
Because it's permissionless and uncensorable Bitcoin works for ordinary people, as well as it works for freedom fighters, activists, drug dealers and warlords.
Therefore, if you choose to help spread Bitcoin adoption, you accept that people can (and will) use it for whatever they decide. And, if they use it well, there's nothing anyone can do about it. Which means you believe that, given that freedom, most people will make decisions that contribute to a better world.
The good will outweigh the bad.
What isn't so obvious is that the inverse is also true.
People who actively oppose Bitcoin adoption believe that, given any real freedom, most people will make detrimental decisions. They have little faith in human conscience. And ultimately, there's the underlying belief that a better world isn't really possible. Only that we should prevent (through control) something worse than what we've already got.
Well I say fuck that.
A better world is possible.
Russel Brand needs Nostr.
I'm stuck in a conundrum.
I refuse to believe in politicians. Too many have inspired hope, only to disappoint.
And then there's Bukele...
