Rain or shine.. there’s no reason to whine!! Picked up a paddle board yesterday and tried it out tonight. I had no prior experience. I started out by sitting then kneeling and worked my way up to even standing while on choppy water! When I first arrived it was raining but the sun came out when I got on the lake!! I can’t wait to go again! 😎

I’m calling this exercise “the backwards surprise!” This is a fun and challenging one. Essentially you are doing tricep push downs backwards with your back up against the pad but what’s surprising is it’s also working your core making you shake! The equipment is brand spankin’ new!! So new there’s no numbers on the weights yet! I really gave the neighbours something to talk about tonight! 🤣 It’s times like these I wish I knew how to use a chainsaw and felt comfortable enough to use one. I managed to snap a lot of the brush by standing on it and pulling on it in the opposite direction but for the rest I had to find some type of saw to use. I used the tongue of a trailer as my base which made things a tad easier. Our garbage pickup will only accept certain lengths and it needs to be bundled. I would say this counts as yard trimmings so concealed in a leaf bag works for me!

The beauty of the outdoors is endless. There were so many dragonflies flying in and around this field. It was pretty to see.

If you’re a girl… you know this dip is THE DIP to have at a bbq with friends! Yesterday while I was making up the classic layered taco dip, I was reminded of all the times I hosted get together’s for years! My place was the place we gathered and celebrated ringing in New Year’s, birthdays, playing cards or poker and sometimes even singing karaoke. It seems so long ago but at the same time I easily remembered how much I love to host and/or whip up something to be shared amongst people I care about. Most importantly it’s about taking time to enjoy each other’s company in its simplest form. The location isn’t what matters nor does it need to be fancy. We quickly picked a date and all contributed food wise making it a hassle free. The simple times are often the best times!! 💜
