When I was I kid, I was excited about the sci-fi future portrayed in Hollywood movies. Robots, AI, flying cars, holograms, etc.
Then I “woke up” to the other side of the coin: total control, surveillance, a possible machine uprising.
And now, for some reason, I’m getting excited again. On the one hand, childhood dreams are coming true. On the other hand, I have a more mature conscience.
I’m ready for the new world.

Notes may be permanent. My opinions aren't.
I want to spin up my own Cashu mint.
Tempted to rewrite Plati as FOSS.
I understood that what I liked the most about this project was simply spending hours just building it.
But now that it’s done, I imagine what needs to happen to turn it into a business: all the marketing, customer relations, red tape, bugs and fixes. And I sort of dread it. I’ve been there, done that and, honestly, didn’t like it that much.
Something to think about.
— Claude, you didn’t do the task I asked you to do and you broke everything else that worked.
— You’re absolutely right!
I’m convinced that reading a bunch of spiritual literature can cause as much psychological damage as it can do good.
Imagine a person who became very convinced he has to live life in a certain way but constantly fails to do so. He can only say to himself so many times that he’s “on a journey” or that “failures are just lessons” before he snaps.
It’s no better than watching motivational TokToks when you’re down.
“Ve vill ban ze cash”.
Decentralized stable eCash mints bleep bloop.
I’m just reading about stable Lightning channels (they are used under the hood for issuing USD eCash), and my mind is blown. I may have missed this development completely.

Well, Plati is now live!

Some info:
🕐 2+ months of work. Basic intended functionality works. Maybe not all edge cases.
🇷🇺 It currently supports only SBP (the Russian Fast Payments System).
🕺 Two types of users: Customer and Payer.
💁♂️ Customer is anyone who wants to pay a Russian merchant with bitcoin. Top up your bitcoin balance, scan the merchant’s QR-code, and your order will go to the order book.
🙋♂️ Payer is anyone with a Russian bank account willing to pick up orders from the order book.
✅ A completed order means that the invoice is paid (Customer happy), and Payer receives invoice amount + commission to his bitcoin balance (also happy).
👌 Zero users because nobody outside Nostr knows about it. 🤣
I will now do more basic testing and start planning marketing campaigns.
Onwards! 🚀
