filters work (Core w/ PR28408 compared to mempool-space today ). What nodes choose to pass on to peers is none of anyone's business, nodes have always been able to come into consensus despite not sharing policy. spam ad nauseum aside, nodes hear about transactions at different times by design and it shouldnt be expected that nodes must relay the same transactions either. the detriment to block propagation from a network with diverse policy has always been on the nodes which choose to propagate junk that others do not. Seeeing how there's no requirement that other nodes must participate in propagating compact blocks, the best course of action for the nefarious actors is to mine the blocks first (or pay someone to do it for them -oob-). Forcing this behaviour isn't a centralizing force to miners, it's normal incentives; if they want to push their luck, go for it. Nodes have all the reason to utilize any tools to make their odds suck a little harder. when I see that mempool-space is so different than my own instance, im reminded of clicking through block explorers back in 2016 when mining pools were stuffing transactions to fill up blocks jacking up fee rates for years. tv remote was having some issues so i decided to use my phone as a stop gap for a few hours(most android/google TVs have a remote service) every app on the playstore that uses this service is filled with ads. like, press a few buttons and an ad pops up (navigate too often? have an ad!) 😅 i run pihole/unbound so the ads never load, but makes me wonder how on earth does anyone tolerate apps like that

our baby snake is 4 months old today 🥳 TIL of a long-standing family tradition of 收涎, literally translated as "anti-drooling ceremony. the idea is that babies stop drooling when they grow up so everyone getting together to find ways to soak up all the baby's drool early should make them grow up faster. image ....so obviously one surrounds babies with cookies, breaking off pieces to soak up his drool 🤭 these traditions make no sense, but at least it's fun. the family goes around in circles and come up with funny rhymes. 收涎收乾乾,趕緊叫爸爸 (soak up all your drool, so you can start saying daddy) 收涎收灕灕,乎你聽話懂代誌 (soak up all your drool, so you'll behave and gain understanding) this tradition is still practiced in Taiwan and Fujian province of China. some use fancy pastries, doughnuts, or cakes; we went for traditional cookies ~2500 sats

found a forgotten drip coffee maker in a closet cleaned it up, made room for it. been making pour overs for like 4 years, taught me a lot about coffee. ....turns out i suck at making pour overs 😮‍💨 (pouring warm/hot water in the reservoir is a neat trick 😋)
