Planted my first batch of tomato seeds on March 28th using a mix of peat moss, soil, coconut husk, and rice husk—just like a bunch of websites recommended. It took weeks for them to sprout, and even then, they looked kinda slow and tired.
So I tried again on April 12th with a different mix: rain tree leaves, coconut husk, soil, and cow manure. I also topped it off with some vermicompost to keep the surface damp but not too wet.
And wow—this second batch sprouted in just a few days! The seedlings look stronger, healthier, and way fresher. Like they’re actually excited to grow.
Looking back, I think the first mix was too dense, especially in this crazy heat. I had to water twice a day, and I’m guessing the roots didn’t have enough space or air to grow properly. The second mix is much lighter, and clearly, the plants are loving it.
Nature’s teaching me, one seed at a time. Time to adjust, learn, and let’s fucking growing!! 🌱
