Hi everyone! 👋🏽
I’ve been noticing stingless bees visiting my blue butterfly bush every morning, and I’m thinking about starting a small hive to help with garden pollination. I’m a complete beginner and would love any tips like how to start or what to avoid.
Not aiming for honey, just excited to learn and support them 😊
Thank you so much! 🙏🏽

My marguerite daisy is happily blooming. it melts my heart. ☺️ I gently gather the blossoms and nestled sweetly into my collection and tuck them in my fruit box.

The mint has been growing soooo well after a few rainy days, so I trimmed some and added it to tonight’s tzatziki. And what goes best with tzatziki? Yes—kofta! 😋
I shaped them like logs and baked them with some grape tomatoes. I also made a big batch of hummus to keep for later.
Yes, we stuffed our faces again. Food coma again… but still no regrets! 😮💨

Mediocre sandwich for lunch today 🥪 : a hybrid of sloppy joe and bolognese with freshly baked brioche buns and a decent amount of parm 🧀

Harvested my first lemongrass today—yay! 🥳 So, I’m making chicken lemongrass coconut soup, also known as Tom Kha Gai (ต้มข่าไก่). It’s a classic Thai soup. I’d say this dish is like the sweet sister of Tom Yum. Instead of being spicy, hot, and punch-you-in-the-face bold, Tom Kha Gai is milder and creamier, yet still fresh and full of flavor. One of our favorite dishes!

I love making a rice bowl for lunch—it’s easy, light, and comes together fast. Still super tasty and filling. Today’s is a tuna poke bowl, with a little bowl of bone broth miso soup on the side. 🥣

We spotted a few benches washed up during our beach walk yesterday, and I picked up a painted Christmas light… just because 😏 We decided to test how strong it was… The Fart and I sat on it, and Daddy used it to help with his Tarzan pull-ups. Turns out, it’s still in great shape!
So, we brought it home, and I turned it into a temporary plant nursery—to keep the plant pots away from the girls. Sometimes they get a little too curious and love nibbling on the sprouts.
One man’s trash, another man’s treasure!

When you look at flowers, do they make your heart feel a little warm and fuzzy? They always do to mine. So, I love putting them on my fruit box just to make it feel more special. 🥰

It’s a grey, quiet, rainy morning, and I’m out trimming the plants. The tarragon and mint are growing so well, and I took a little off the Italian basil too. Everything smells fresh, earthy, and green.
Feels like a good excuse to make something Italian for dinner tonight 😅 maybe a simple pasta?

I’m making Mhoo Hong (หมูฮ้อง) tonight; a traditional Southern Thai dish, especially popular in Phuket. Unlike many Thai dishes, this one isn’t spicy but has a deep, aromatic flavor, inspired by Chinese red-braised pork.
I also made some curry fish cakes and shrimp tempura to round out the meal.

Curry rice (カレーライス) with pan-seared chicken 🍛 I don’t have fukujinzuke (Japanese red pickles), so I used green mustard pickles instead. They were a bit too sour on their own, so I stir-fried them with eggs, Thai-style. A little mix of Japanese and Thai flavors for dinner 😋

Mixed whole wheat and dark rye #sourdough - so bold and nutty!
Smearing lots of butter, drizzling some honey, and adding a little bit of salt. 😮💨
