Millions of people are so unproductive they have to wait until the government mandates their employer has to pay them more, because they legally have to. Also, those employers who can’t afford the rise will replace the staff with a machine (or just back them) increasing unemployment and anyway, the increase will also drive inflation so many effect of a “payrise” will be will be very short lived.
