Gm nostriches, well, completed by anti racism and white privilege training, and I feel better able to call out racism when I see it.
Covert racism: not commenting on staff performance for fear of being called a racist/sexist
Casual/ overt racism: look, the poor privileged middle aged white guy feels hard done to!!!
Structural racism: we need less seniors managers that look like you, so no promotion for you.
Structural racism: we have a target for the number of profs that fit our edi template.
My actions to promote anti racism: withdraw my time and effort from the racist system.
Really enjoyed the training, unsure this was what they were hoping I’d take from the equality of outcomes brain washing.
Unsure I’m benefiting from white privilege, I’m now benefiting for applying myself, learning stuff and investing in hard assets. I don’t need a leg up and it’s nothing to do with the colour of my skin or which chromosome I was born with.
Also, am I the bad guy?
Happy Thursday freaks.
