Big thanks to everyone who participated in the ecash design guide review session last week or left comments on the draft PR. I've just pushed a new version of the guide incorporating much of the feedback. You can check out the latest deployment here: https://deploy-preview-1093--bitcoin-design-site.netlify.app/guide/how-it-works/ecash/introduction/ The first half of the introduction, Cashu, and Fedimint pages have been updated. The second half of the introduction and design best practices section are still to be reviewed. I'm aiming to set up another session during the last week of September. My goal is to have this ready and deployed before Bitcoin ++ ecash edition. I'm confident we can make it happen. As always, your feedback is a gift! Feel free to leave it in the open PR:

Feedback on V1 of the ecash guide is pouring in from Fedimint and Cashu protocol devs! ❗You don’t have to be a developer to contribute❗If you use bitcoin, you can help design! Take a look and share anything you find confusing or disagree with—that’s a huge help too!

V1 of the ecash guide I've been working on with @Bitcoin Design is ready for review. We’ll have a PR review on Thursday September 5th at 14:00 UTC to discuss the guide and gather feedback before merging. Join us if you can! Here’s a look at the current design best practices section.

GM. Bitcoin is quite possibly the most ambitious electronic money project ever conceived. Understand what a blessing it is to be able to contribute to it .

Been exploring some designs for Fedimint’s federation and guardian status indicators. The idea is to make it simple to see if guardians are online, how reliable they’ve been, and uptime. I wonder you think something like this could be useful for Cashu? What other data is useful? image

I love Bitcoin. I get so fired up thinking about what it can achieve. I don’t know how the project will end, but I know I’ll look back on it fondly, remembering this time and how I felt that anything was possible.

I think Photoshop is missing something in their counterfeit detection modal warning. Additional context would be helpful!

Yo Cashu users: How often do you share a mint with someone? Would you like to share and add a mint by scanning a QR code?

Here’s a new design idea I’ve been working on for Cashu wallets to simplify multimint payments. Instead of manually entering amounts, users can set percentage allocations for each mint, and the wallet automatically manages future LN payments according to the allocation. Users first set their target ratios for each mint, and the wallet then performs an initial multimint swap to balance the funds according to the distribution. Going forward, users won't have to enter manual payment amounts every time they make a payment. From here on traditional LN payment UX takes over. The wallet handles all the payment calculations and adjustments in the background. What do you guys think?

I was thinking about how a multimint lightning payment might look and threw something together. I hate it—feels so empty and doesn’t capture the magic at all. Straight to the trash, but I’m sharing it with you anyway. Sometimes you design bad stuff.
