Don't underestimate the social layer of #Bitcoin. The friends I've made through this magic internet money thing are proof that amazing things can't be built on top of the base layer.

Hyperbitcoinization is going to come fast and hard. Most people won't see it coming. Nobody knows when it will come. I don't know if it'll be marked by a specific event or how that event remembered, but "The God Candle" is coming. And it won't be about price.
I'm friends with a bunch of high integrity bitcoiners that call themselves "accelerationists". Just like the rest of us, they see where the world is headed. We all see the craziness that this fiat system has led to, and these guys want to rip the bandaid off. Instead of sitting back and watching it all play out, why not push EVEN more crazy shit? Why not get the pain over with now? Accelerating clown world will accelerate its collapse, and in turn, Bitcoin's eventual transformation of the species. The sooner the better, right?
Those guys are on to something. And while the world is already doing a great job of accelerating on its own, and a big part of me sees nobility in the accelerationist movement. The world is already suffering. People are already in pain.
The God Candle could happen tomorrow, next month, next year... who knows. But it's coming. Accelerate it by being the best possible version of yourself. Like @Jeff Booth says, spend your energy in the world you want to live in. Plant Bitcoin seeds and foster Bitcoin relationships. Be humble enough to learn, and kind enough to help those seeking it.

I started down the Bitcoin rabbit hole a couple of years ago because I knew that a fixed supply monetary asset would be a great hedge for inflation. At the time, I knew that the world was corrupt, and I knew damn well that money was at the root of it. I knew the wars in the Middle East were bullshit. I knew that the world wasn't fair. But before I explored the rabbit hole, I had no idea how bad things were.
I'm a public servant. I work for the state. I stayed out of politics, and built a job/career where I felt like I was one of the good guys, doing work that fulfilled me. I was helping the little guy... at least that's what I told myself. Now, the longer I spend in Bitcoin, the more I realize that in my fiat life I'm actually a part of the problem.
I know that Bitcoin is going to completely upend the world. And I know that the current version of "the state" is on its final days. I've learned to accept that there's going to be pain. People are going to get hurt, and there's nothing I can do to prevent that. But I'm struggling to figure out where I belong in "this". I just want to leave the world in a better place than I found it.
Is anyone else out there in a similar spot? A part of me want to resign, but I'm not sure if that's my path.
We'll never reach hyperbitcoinization without community. Build relationships, connections, and bridges.
Where are all the other Bitcoin Meetup organizers?

I've become a better person since finding Bitcoin. Inside and out.

GM, indeed.

I'm still feeding off the energy from the Canadian Bitcoiner Conference last weekend. So many amazing conversations. So many laughs.
It's an honour to be a part of this community. LFG.
The Lord's of Corn.

After an amazing local meetup last night, I'm off to the first Canadian Bitcoin Conference tomorrow. Spending so much of my time in Fiat world is tough. It feel like I'm only truly myself when I'm around other bitcoiners. It feels like Christmas Eve.... but so much better.

Sadly, human need to feel pain to learn. Destructive, nonsensical environmental policies have caused a lot of suffering... and there's more to come. If the pain comes now, we might be able to avoid even more pain later.

The state of the Canadian agricultural industry from the prospective of of 2 Canadian bitcoiners who grew up in it.
A must listen.
