Heathcliff update: this evening he hobbled up the stairs and curled up with Shaddie for a while in my office chair, for a change of scenery. Hopefully it's a sign that his injuries are healing a bit. We were worried about him going up and down the stairs, but it seems he's done so safely tonight! Great to see him gradually becoming more mobile again! UPDATE: GUESS WHO'S HOME, MFERS?! 🥹🐱🐈‍⬛ X-rays went amazingly: ribs okay, hips, torso, legs, all okay! We suspect deep soft tissue ouchies, which will take weeks to heal, and possibly longer term risk of nerve damage, but given he was hit by a fucking car, I think that is a massive win for Heathcliff. After two long and very terrifying days of unknowns, Heathie is now sleeping peacefully at home with Shadow, and we're reassured with the knowledge that at least he has no internal bleeding or broken bones. Absolute miracle really, to be hit by a car and come away without catastrophic injury. He's limping around, but is mostly in good spirits. We're administering an anti-inflammatory and painkiller for the next week and keeping him indoors. I am so fucking livid at whoever hit a cat, and ran away. At the same time I am grateful that the neighbourhood immediately came to his rescue and found me so I could take him to the vet. Immediate action very likely made a huge difference between life and death. I'll try to drop my rage and just be super thankful that Heathcliff is safe with us. 🥹🙏🐱 #catstr View quoted note →

My worst nightmare, Heathcliff was hit by a car yesterday. 😿 By grace of miracle he's okay. Back home overnight with us but I've dropped him off this meowning to get x-rays done. He's still limping around and not fully using his hind legs, there's concern there may be a hip injury. pls send him ur kitty prayers. I'll be afk for a bit dealing with this, but will share an update soon as I can. 😿🙏 #catstr
