I just spun up a self-hosted lightning node this week on a DIY Start9. Integrated it with AlbyHub and got everything flowing properly in and out.
There were a few bumps along the way, but it works. And it’s my first time doing anything like this.
Then, any podcast app that uses the Alby integration can function on top of a self-hosted node.

Releasing kids to ministry work can be tough. Though I don't ave any first-hand experience (yet), I think this is a helpful perspective.

We hear about how podcast discovery is broken and needs to be fixed. But let’s remember that there’s a dark side to letting an algorithm push content.

I wish I could fall asleep in bed as quickly as on the couch watching a show before I go to bed.

What do you have planned for your weekend?

We’ve all seen them - the random question followed by obviously fake engagement and a request to connect. Followed, of course, by a sales pitch in your messages.
Don’t fall for it.
And… please, if it’s you doing this, rethink your strategy. It didn’t age well.

For me: not a purchase, but a donation. Streaming sats to a podcast.

Kind of figured something like this had to be in the works. Hope it turns out to be a good thing.

Good stuff!
This! What a great way to build relationships and also help with podcast discovery.
Acoustic treatment is often more important than choosing the “right” mic as a #podcaster, but it can be expensive. The good news is that it doesn’t HAVE TO be expensive.

Remember that mastering the fundamentals will always overcome short-sighted tactical tweaks in the long run.

Have you heard one of these podcaster fairy tales?
1. Fix it in post
2. Guests have great mics
3. You don’t need a sound check
Or…
Guests will grow your audience.
Publishing on Tuesday to grow.
Just hire an iTunes podcast promoter.
The truth… it’s hard. Focus on the fundamentals.

One thing about having very few connections - it’s much easier to keep up with everyone.
I see this all the time - podcasters focusing on the slight edge and forgetting about the fundamentals.
Here’s the hard truth - publishing Tuesday (or any other day) instead of the weekend won’t help grow your audience if the content isn’t great or you are inconsistent with publishing.
I know this first-hand. Believe me.
Focus on getting the content right and serving your audience before you obsess over things like publishing days.

@fractalchris I checked out Highlighter. Looks like a Nostr-based version of something like Patreon. Did I get that right?

It was fun to sit in the guest interviewer's chair for this #podcast episode. We talked about (among other things) the often painful way we learn leadership lessons.
