Narcissists will say you're punishing them when we don't do what they want. You’re not being mean. You’re saving yourself. We must hold healthy boundaries to protect ourselves. Often, with toxic people, the only boundary that's safe is no contact at least until we can build healthy boundaries. #grownostr image

Narcissists feed off your reactions. The more you engage, the more they win. It doesn't matter how you engage with them, it only matters that you do. The real power is in indifference. Do everything you can to get out of the relationship and away from them. Walk away and never look back. #grownostr image

Some days are hard and it just doesn’t make sense and that’s ok. What’s worse is we often beat ourselves or think we shouldn’t feel that way, which makes it harder to let go of these emotions. It usually takes time to work through it. Be kind to yourself and know you can and will get through this. #grownostr

So many times after doing something fun and exciting that we love, we almost feel sad afterwards and sometimes do. I think this is normal after feeling the high of actually doing the thing. I also think this is something that perhaps should be talked about more. The big thing is allowing ourselves to feel however we do no matter what anyone else has to say about it. Or the way we think we should feel. And of course be kind to ourselves through the process. #grownostr

If you didn't see the last video talking about the Ted Fest music festival I went to, this is what I'm talking about. It was nice because I had no choice, but not be on my phone or working. It was magical and I think it's much needed for anyone who is on all the time, whether for work or not. Find a place and a time and go dark, even for a little time. We all need it! #grownostr

Everyone has all their thoughts about what it should look like for us to move forward. Many of them don’t understand what it’s actually like to go through. Most of the time the small things we do are the big things especially in the beginning. Those are the major accomplishments of moving forward. Be kind to you no matter what anyone else says or thinks about it. #grownostr

You don’t owe anyone access to your life. If someone is toxic, manipulative, or draining your energy, it’s okay to walk away—no guilt, no explanation. Protecting your peace isn’t selfish; it’s self-respect. Many other people will have their thoughts about all of it and that's ok. Staying true to ourselves is the most important part! #grownostr image

Narcissists make you feel unworthy so they can keep you small and dependent. But the truth is, their inability to love was never about you. Healthy love exists. It’s not something you have to beg for—it’s something you deserve. We simply must find the people who can reciprocate the same love we give! #grownostr image

Nothing will ever be enough for a narcissist. No matter what you give or give up, they will always want more. The only way to break this cycle is to start giving to yourself in whatever way you can. This is something they'll never do for you. It's also an essential part of healing. We must give to us! #grownostr image

Went to Ted Fest this weekend and got to hang out with my brother and not use my phone, cause I had no signal. It rained and had some major wind, but then cleared up for a great night. Really cool experience and I got to watch my brother perform for a contest on stage and he rocked it! Great time and good time away from everything! #grownostr

So much shame is thrown around all over the place. Of course we’ve gotten a lot from narcissists, but we often do this to ourselves as well after we’re out of these relationships. Learning to release the shame is life changing. Think of it as a continuous learning process, rather than anything we ever get perfect. #grownostr

The shame and judgement we have about our past is what truly holds us back. The more we can allow ourselves to let go of this, the more we can move forward with our lives. We've all done things we aren't proud of, but we don't have to attach the shame and judgement to it. Learn to let it all go. #grownostr image

We learn to resist in order to survive toxic relationships. When we get out we often still resist allowing ourselves to think the way we want or feel any emotions. Allowing ourselves to let go of the resistance is essential for healing and for moving forward in our lives. Get support and do the work! You are worth it! #grownostr

Toxic people project on us that we are not deserving of anything. This is a complete lie and a reflection of them, not you! It doesn't mean we don't need to work for many things, but it does mean we are deserving of it. No one else gets to decide this for you. You get to decide for yourself. #grownostr image

I had a unique experience today and almost ran over a rattlesnake today. First one I've ever actually seen on the trails and I've been on them for 30 years or so. A neat experience and all is well. The best part is I got a ride in, which is the most important part. #grownostr

We often knowingly or unknowingly try to shame or judge ourselves or others into doing what we want. Although it works sometimes, it often causes resentment and it's never actually helpful in the long term. Everyone must allow themselves to do it themselves on their own terms and timeline. #grownostr image

Most of us were never taught how to deal with and process our thoughts and emotions. Society doesn’t help with it either. These are skills anyone can learn and they are essential. Not just to feel better or be happier, but to be able to embrace all of the good things and the life we’re building. #grownostr

Narcissists always use at least a tiny bit of truth in their lies. This allows them to point to the truth in an attempt to reinforce their lies. Just because part of their story is true, does not make the entire thing the TRUTH. Always separate the truth from the story they tell. #grownostr image

Not that narcissists really have joy, but they certainly like when everyone else is miserable. It makes them feel a little better seeing other people less happy than them. This won't change and neither will they, but you can move on with your life and you can heal. #grownostr image

Narcissists don't want anyone to feel better than them. Since they are also unwilling to work to feel better, they drag everyone else down to feel worse than them. We don't need these people in our lives, they will only drag us down. Remove them from your life as much as possible. #grownostr image
