Offline is going to be a symbol of the "rich". Those who can afford to be off devices. So many jobs (even blue collar) require interacting with smart phones for the day job. Interacting with banking, ordering food, paying for stuff. Having to pay inflation prices for experiences, travel, etc. View quoted note →

My entire month of December. I missed every deadline. Can't wait to pay even more fines. Most of the issue is that the local USPS hub got messed up and delayed government mail (only guberment mail btw) by 2 weeks. That's still our responsibility btw. For one issue I was told they can't help me an I should file a suit if I think the fines are unjust. In the meantime fines will continue to accrue interest and INFLATION surcharges. That's right WE have to pay for inflation, that THEY'RE creating. I'm confident state and local government agencies are more corrupt (or at least in ways that affect us more directly as citizens) then our federal government. View quoted note →

It feels really weird owning a server new enough to have native m.2 support and only USB 3 ports.

Just a reminder to have redundancy in your cloud environment. One of my hosting providers had a hardware failure and needed to offline migrate some services. My instance was mostly unaffected, but for maybe 20 minutes. However my service as a whole were completely uninterrupted, users shouldn't have noticed whatsoever, and all I had to do was keep an eye on my logs, everything else was automatic. The server came back online and traffic was restored.

I just traded a 64gb kit of consumer DDR4 for a new server XD. Then I'm about to sell an 8 year old machine for just shy of the price it was new. Hardware prices are wild.
