Supplying sovereign bitcoiners since #700.000 '21.
What are we famous for apart from mining in a greenhouse and growing tulips with the heat? Seal bags. We’ve updated our website two weeks ago and decided to standardize ordering in popularity. Our seal bags have been the best seller since we started offering them. And it remains simple. When you put your seed backup or your signing device away, how do you know nobody has touched it? It was the simplest and cheapest solution we could think of. We’ve spread thousands of them to bitcoiners across Europe. Looking at the popularity of other products you’ll also find some interesting surprises. What, in order of appearance of below screenshots makes you wonder? For us the competition between signing devices, but also seeing the cheaper bitaxe being sold as a gift are still beautiful to see. We’re packing everything with love everyday. Thanks for keeping the bitcoin ethos alive! Sovereignty and freedom since #700.000 2021-11-9
If you are not coincidentally running around in El Salvador you can order a fantastic @npub1n3h6...2j0t portal with us. We still have 81 in stock. The devices are not great with iPhone, because iPhones nfc is heavily permissioned. But for the multisig users and enjoyers of bitcoin keeper @nunchuk_io and soon bluewallet you will love this super simple device without a battery! image
After two weeks of sending emails up and down with customs and calling the shipper to resolve an unlawful charge, we’re finally going to receive our shipment from the US. Apparently last month the customs did an update of their system and 4 year old incorrect data of companies became the main data. We had to sign a document with an address where we were located 4 years ago, so we made them aware that we have all customs documentation and import permits and this is totally incorrect. After sending reminder mails and calling multiple times there was still no clarification or response. The last call was really startling. They said it was such a mess at customs, so many problems it was unbelievable. They were going to do their best for us. After reminding them last night that we still didn’t get any mail or confirmation the below short text finally came. “Customs has made the necessary adjustments. Your shipment has been released. You no longer need to make payment for the receipt of your shipment.” We’ve spend many many hours on this. Having a business in EU you spend most of your time on (taxes, laws, insurance, banks, payment providers, customs, shippers, lawyers, scammers etc) constantly delivering endless documentation to all kinds of parties. Also the amount of questions and information we had to supply with our banks is utterly insane. Luckily we’ve got everything in order but it’s a huge pain. Our admin files folder has hit over 20k documents to store for tax purposes. If you think running a company is fun, would like to repeat some famous words “it’s like eating glass”. And it’s not because it’s painful from the positive developments, it’s always the majority of time spend on the leeches of our society. The world has to move to a bitcoin standard. image
Today we had an interesting talk with a customer that bought multiple signers and multiple backup plates. The question was regarding data. We have explained this more often, but maybe we need to recap this: - we delete all order data that is linked to you, this means name, address, e-mailadres, phone, ip address - we save the order number with what was ordered so we can find the specific order back if there is something about it, as we don’t hold additional data we can’t every reach out to you. No newsletters, no bullshit, no reaching out for whatever, ever after you received your order - if you chose regular shipping we manually put the order in the shippers website, this because it’s then not linked to an account with the shipper. For multiple years we’ve asked shippers about their security, and basically everyone has access to shipping data accounts. Also shipping accounts are not possible to 2FA. So we simply input every order manually. Next to that every unencrypted API to your website is a risk too. - if you chose private shipping we put stamps on it, write the address on the package by hand and throw it in our local postbox, fully anonimous but it has no tracking. And you have to trust it doesn’t get lost on the way… It’s still unbelievable how many people order with fiat. All your data is shared including order details with the payment provider. We still warn people that checkout with us and we put a premium for the additional cost, but people in general still find it too much work to use Lightning in ~50% of the orders. How can we improve this?
Our Noderunner friend just created two 15 second clips for us. What do you think?
We just received our first batch of EU manufactured bitaxe gammas. This is a very special device, as the stand is also a heatsink. It’s amazing to see how much development we’ve seen in a year. And now that we are ramping up, we have added some new options for the pleb tinkerers. Now there is a special stand section and we’ve added these EU top quality manufactured devices with the northbridge cooler and Noctua fan. Bitaxe Gamma Silent
So we had a lot of discussions with @jack's lead at block. We submitted our teams details and we really hoped to be able to test at our many locations and would be able to remain in the loop. Also to bridge with the bitaxe movement and see where we can head from here. The last conversation was unfortunately never picked up again as our contact left block at that time (May 24). She did ask us if our webshop (receiving bitcoin payments every day) was going to add USDC… but anyway didn’t want to dox her, so deleted name and picture. It would be great if, in some kind of way, we could follow where block is with the development. Does anyone have any update? So we might be able to use different chips or create different setups for our upcoming boiler and grid balancing installations… image
We have been importing Bitaxes from the USA for quite a while now. Currently they are holding one box of 100 pieces at customs and ask us to pay €3916,- import tax and additional administration fees of €94,78. It looks like we have to directly stop imports from US if they are starting to go like this. We still have stock. On a beautiful side note, we’ve created a special bitaxe page on our website and are starting to throw more options on there for the lovers. Tomorrow we’ll start listing our first EU build bitaxes to, so stay tuned. https://bitcoinbrabant.com/product-categorie/bitaxe/
Today we celebrate with a special discount code: “rossisfree”. image
Run your own node! We have started building our own @BitcoinBrabant Start OS instance. Something that has been our goal since #700.000. We've throughout the years supported and helped many people with their nodes, but now we are focussing on this product. Please let us know if you have any improvements or questions. Every node we sell $10,- is donated to start OS for their open source development. Please note that we will not be an official reseller as we don't sell the official device server. We deliver our own support to this product. We have communicated this with @matts and he understood why we are bringing our own hardware after years of trying to bring the right node to the market. Our decision to not import the servers from Matt directly is because of the cost basis. Importing these nodes from the US was simply too costly. This way we can bring the best sovereign compute to the EU for a great price. He has explicitly asked us to not use his company name in our marketing. Therefore we call it the BitcoinBrabant Sovereign Start OS Node ;) Please don't hesitate to buy directly from the manufacturer or from the official resellers, we just want to make node running and sovereign compute more affordable. image https://bitcoinbrabant.com/product/bitcoin-brabant-start-os-node/
