despite what he said about bitcoin, i look up to charlie munger as an investor and his philosophy is still core to how i invest. munger was known for acquiring high quality assets at reasonable prices — even when other market participants considered them overvalued by traditional metrics — and holding these assets for as long as possible. he understood that if you have a long time preference, you outperform by acquiring the best assets possible and holding them forever, regardless of price. you don’t need to chase flashy trends or go deep value shopping. in a way he knew that the only way to escape the sinister force of inflation was to acquire the best assets at all fiat prices and never sell them for fiat.
