Speaking of screwing up your goals. Oil country gets bombed attempting to prop up the petrodollar. Oil country responds by switching to Bitcoin. The level of wannabe gangsters fucking up here is so bad Guy Ritchie is going to have to be who they get for the documentary. View quoted note โ†’

This does more for my productivity than any other hack. Carry a notepad, write down a task as soon as you think of it. I have the memory of a pothead goldfish so when I finish a thing I look at the list. Otherwise I wouldn't remember and go slack off instead. View quoted note โ†’

Yesterdays #fitstr was breathwork and some gardening. Today was BJJ.

I don't remember if I reviewed the book House Of Leaves when I finished it, so here we go. At its base, a Lovecraft style horror. It is to my knowledge absolutely unique in the genre. There are layers of the story designed in such a way that the reader is in the world of the horror and potentially victim to the monster. Also unique in my reading experience is the way that the book absolutely ignored every convention of book layout for effect. Font, color, and layout are all abused. Repeatedly I found myself flipping back to see how far back a trick had been played on me. More than once when I realized how the book was sucking me into the story I swore out loud. I do not exaggerate at all when I say you need a real physical copy of this book if you plan to read it. An ebook or audiobook absolutely will not do the job. You couldn't convert it without destroying the artistic merit, think braille playboy. I finished it months ago and I still think about it regularly. I have added other books by Mark Z. Danielewski to my to read.

Great irony watching this on YouTube then posting it to nostr. I still think he is on to something. Putting away my sad rectangle shortly I swear.

Imagine all the politicians this week finding out that they have less character than Marjorie Taylor Greene and Alex Jones. Do you just take all the mirrors out of your house?

Read more and people gift you more books. It is a feedback loop that makes it impossible to read enough to keep up with your incoming book supply.

I'm using the concept of proof of work to help filter my content consumption. 2 dudes rambling off the cuff and recording it is much lower work than a book. I've never understood the Bitcoin community's obsession with low effort content like random GM or NGU posts. Podcasts that clearly required very little preparation aren't much better. I stand by this enough to ask you to call me on my bullshit if you see my posting low effort content.

#fitstr update again. 5x5 1 arm club swings, 5x5 2 arm mace swings, deadbugs. I tried using a yoga ball pinched between my knee and hand during deadbugs to help enforce form and control. It was harder. I like it and I think I'll keep doing them that way.
