My first computer was running on windows for 5 years.
My second one on macos for 12 years.
My third one is the second transitioned to #linux.
Fisrt installed kubuntu. Struggled to make everything work (especially wifi and touchpad gestures). Got insecure for adfing many packages and user rights, and fed up by the ui and the multiple layers of information (and forums) to go through. Learnt a lot though.
Then started over with #ubuntu, ready to fight. But everything worked like a breeze, no further "manual"/cli action to take.
It feels like windows vs. macos on ui and ux.
On tracks for 12 more years?

I am finally moving to #linux to give a new life to my 2013 macbook air.
After 12 years (and 2 battery replacement), it is still fast and reliable, but cannot receive updates and run some apps (especially my favorite #anytype ).
Moving it forward for an unknown life expectancy.
Happy to get a little more free from the gafam !
