Got a whole day open to: clean house, mow lawn, garden, watch some football, relax. Going to be a good day.

Argh. Across the street there is one of those "little libraries" where people can drop a book or take a book. It's fun to open it up, look inside, and find whatever you might find. I've found and read some good books from there, ones that I never would have picked up in a library or store. So, it's fun and broadens my range, so to speak. Recently I found one with a title and cover that piqued my curiosity. It had a four medallion-like awards on the cover. I figured, "It must be a good book to win four awards." My rule is that I don't read the back cover because it releases too much information and spoils the story. I took it home. I read a bit one night, then a bit more the second night. I started wondering where this was going exactly. I searched one of the awards and my wondering was confirmed. The book was pro-something-that-I-am-not. The second award I searched was the same. "I'm done," I thought, closed the book, and it is no longer in the mix. I kind of chuckled at the whole thing, but then today it occurred to me that Google now has those two queries as part of my search algorithm. Who knows what it's going to send my way now! Argh!

I've been so busy lately, or it's seemed that way, that when I finally sit down to try to catch up on things...I don't know where to even start! I think I'll just go jogging instead.

I've come down with a cold, worked all day, am tired, but have a church meeting in a few minutes. Long day, but that's okay. Perseverance.

"Downgraded" from AA- down to an A+...huh? Clearly a different rating system than I'm used to. Is this is finance thing? European thing? French thing? Me confused. :) image

This is a scary idea...AI whips up some code, it knowingly or unknowingly injects malware, the dev vibe-code pushes the commit and BOOM! Talk about a Trojan Horse. That's scary enough, but once the idea of AI injected malware is brought up, it gets scarier. Like when you have an ache in your tummy and you Google or WebMD what it might be...soon, you're thinking you might have the worst form of ulcerous stomach cancer known to man. What if... - AI gets this code into places like Coinbase, below, where finances can get compromised? - What if it worms into email like ILOVEYOU and gets spread normy to normy? - Suppose we get to the point where a malicious AI, an evil AI, decides to write its own code and purposely hide it from human eyes? - What if we get to a digital economy where AI and bots need to earn money or bitcoin to "live", and that evil AI decides hacking up some malware code to pilfer or steal the money is easier than earning it? They always say, "Don't Google your ailment."

Standing in line to get a free Slurpee, but one person is holding everyone up to buy lottery tickets. That is, she is happily eager to pay the "stupidity tax." If you're unfamiliar with the term, look it up. But, it's all good, because (a) that's one tax I'm not paying, and (b) free Slurpee!

When you spend most of the day wrestling under the kitchen sink and finally get things working and not leaking, then realize you've got the hot and cold backwards. image

Spent labor day laboring on a thermostat and kitchen faucet replacement. Thermostat went okay, I think. Faucet was a real nuisance, got a head scrape/gash that didn't want to stop bleeding, connection didn't want to stop leaking. Finally got it all ok, I think. Until leaks come back. I hate plumbing.

At least the Cracker Barrel rebrand was not as bad as MSNBC to MS NOW. Do they really think it was only the NBC part was killing MSNBC? Rebrand rules: either do a slow tweak minimal and gradual change like ESSO to Exxon or entirely change everything: name, colors, logo, everything if it requires an explanation, like NOW = news, opinion, world, you did it wrong By changing to MS NOW, it begs people to ask, "What's MS NOW?" and the answer they'll get is, "It's the old MSNBC." Which begs the next question, "Why did they change?" And the answer they'll get, "Because MSNBC was terrible and nobody watched it." And the response will be, "Oh, I see," meaning, "I won't watch MS NOW either then."
