On desktop, is it possible to set up Coracle for one-click zapping? I can zap via the lightning QR code, but that requires me to pick up my phone, login, then zap. It works, but I'm lazy, so this is a hindrance. One (or two) click zaps would be awesome. (I use coinos.io as my "zap wallet" by the way.) @ hodlbod

Over the summer I decided I needed to read Neal Stephenson fiction. I read "Snow Crash", and liked it. Certain parts of it I thought were a little silly, yet fun, but I was amazed at how far ahead he was with regard to the metaverse and, literally, is credited with coining the term in that book. Being fascinated by bitcoin, I started reading Cryptonomicon and so far am liking it even more. The history or mix of history and fiction is terrific. A couple of years ago I'd heard of some "sci-fi author" possibly being Satoshi. As a non sci-fi reader, I didn't think much of it. But, I'm certain he was the one that was being referred to. I don't think he is Satoshi, but it's fun to pretend. For now, I'll just keep reading and enjoying, and learning. I've found that I learn a bunch of history by reading fiction where the main characters and storyline are mixed and merged into a true history. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's real and what's not, kind of schizophrenically, but that's okay too. Anyway, that's not even why I started writing this! I wrote this because I recently came across this article by Arkinox. He's building out "Cyberspace" or the metaverse using bitcoin's proof-of-work (cryptography, math, physics) and nostr. I've got to dig in deeper, but my gut tells me there's something to this. See article: image

I just saw commercial that said, "This is 100% real," and I immediately thought, "So, this is 100% fake." Does that make me a bad person?

My Actifit Report Card: August 5 2025 My workplace is so cold. I brought in this thermometer where the bubbles rise and fall based on the temperature. Right now, they're all at the bottom, because I had it outside in the heat. So it's showing hot now. Tomorrow morning, I'll bet anything all those bubbles will be up at the top, w... The original Steak n Shake Steak n Shake has been on the radar a lot, at least for me, because of their embrace of bitcoin. They've got something going on. Last week I traveled through Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. I had a specific goal in mind: I wanted to stop at the original Steak n Shake location in Normal, IL. I knew that t... I saw somebody thankful for the "cheap sats" recently. #Bitcoin was at $113K and we're seeing it as a discount. We've come a long, long way!

For somebody who lives a rather boring and normal life, I get more interaction from "everyday life posts" than bitcoin or tech posts. Not sure what that means exactly, I guess either (a) my bitcoin/tech takes are ho-hum, (b) I'm not as boring as I think, or (c) we need more non-bitcoin, non-tech posts. I'm ruling out (b) and lean toward (c).

Good thing about free AI - it's free Bad thing about free AI - it allows for limited credits and use Good thing - running out of credits forces you to try competitors Bad thing - you have to learn the new system Good - you learn new things, new skills Bad - you forget the old things, until you have to cycle back Good - this competition incentivizes each one to up their game and increase free credits

Aneighbir gave me one of these floating bulb thermometer things. I'm enough of a nerd to put it outside/inside/places just to wait watch and watch it do something. Pretty much a slow, thermometer lava lamp. image

Shapeflation I'm coining a new term right here and now: shapeflation We all know inflation all too well. Since COVID especially, we've been hearing the spinoff term shrinkflation...keep the price the same, just shrink the size of the product. Well, here's a variation of shrinkflation. "Shapeflation" is essentially shrinkflation,... Bridged via Hostr at This is a long form post, read the full article at
