On this day in 1988, the Jimmy Barnes LP “Barnestorming” debuted on the Australian charts (December 5)
Jimmy Barnes had chalked up three #1 studio albums in a row (“Bodyswerve”, “For the Working Class Man”, and “Freight Train Heart”), so it was the perfect time for a live LP, and this was it.
“Barnestorming” also went all the way to #1, staying in the top spot for three weeks.
The album, and the accompanying Barnestorming Tour, featured the excellent line-up of Barnes, his brother-in-law Johnny Diesel on guitar, Dave Amato (ex-REO Speedwagon) on guitar, Chris Bailey (the Angels, Gang Gajang) on bass, Tony Brock (the Babys) on drums and Peter Kekell on keyboards.
All the big hits are there, like “No Second Prize", "Working Class Man", and “Driving Wheels"
