This old lady, if the TV is turned off, and the meds are wearing off because she forgot to take her daily poison dosage, is completely capable of understanding what is going on out there. Normal conversation about vaccines, education, propaganda, food.
BUT, as soon as she throws in her medical cocktail, and turns on the TV - the next conversation is like talking to a completely different person.
