The real telling is up to Core, do they continue to make it easier to have garbage on the chain, if they do Bitcoin Legacy chain will die. It will become harder and harder for everyday people to run a node. If mining becomes more to decentralize (datum or stratum V2) then there is hope. Otherwise Bitcoin Legacy is doomed to fail from bloat. Bip 110 chain success depends on these factors heavily

Part of the problem is that a lot of people don't see or don't want to see this. Yes price will keep going up. Even for years. At some point there will be a manifestation of control that will wreck a lot of people.
