I was homeless because of the 2007 sub prime mortgage bubble that burst and fucked over the economy. I ate the cheapest food I could get, even salvaging expired food from the trash at times if it was sanitary to do so. I slept in my car until I started sneaking into a back room at one of my jobs to set up a cot every night and take it down before anyone came in in the morning. I bathed in public restrooms or at a gym where people knew me from high school and wouldn't have questioned my presence. Perhaps if my timeline had been different, my nerd side might've enjoyed cosplay but there's no way I was going to spend money on stuff like that. The only costume I have is a gaudy as fuck orange blazer with a lime green tie and a maroon pinstriped shirt that I wear with a pimp hat. All of it was free.
