Its a preference thing i suppose. I don't rely on feeds at all, i only follow a hand full of active people and just use their posts and replies as a jumping off point to browse nostr, going from thread to profile to thread etc. So i depend on seeing everything. I recon if you just mainly are interested in OPs by a sophisticated selection of people of interest to you, or are some super influencer rockstar that just manages his parasocial relationships (or ignores them rather), things might be different. Ideally it is a setting/option with whatever opinionated default, but i don't know how much of a burden it is to maintain that.
