I sincerely can't tell if you're joking so no, I was alluding to the old "if you don't stand up for the persecuted, no one will stand up for you because by the time they get to persecuting you, everyone else will be gone" trope.
So my point was if you ask the state to surveil and hurt people who disagree with you, you're both on the wrong side of history (hopefully) and probably next in line when the machine is looking for new lives to destroy.
Like, who were the final victims of the Chinese "Cultural Revolution"? The very bands of violent students who started the revolution in the first place.

Sorry to need to ask in the first place but with the level of discourse recently it’s hard to tell…
