As I read it, there’s one allegation that could be considered hacking: According to the government, he obtained a password hash from Bradley Manning and failed to crack it. The rest of the indictment accuses Assange of publicly asking for leaks and then publishing the ones he received on the Wikileaks web site. Doesn’t that amount to charging him with practicing journalism?
