No... They did what you're doing and sued the cake shop owner because the owners of the shop decided they don't want to make your cake anymore. You got it backwards. Core is core and it's their repo. They can do whatever they want. You can go get you cake (node) anywhere else you want. Including the other 29 cakes they already made for you that still work fine. They're not forcing you to buy their new cake. Just start buying cakes elsewhere. That's how it works.
