GM! If you’re curious about how I learned Japanese, this is basically what I did: I started by learning hiragana and katakana, then went through RTK (Remembering the Kanji) along with Anki Core 2.3k decks (there are plenty of options), and immersed myself in Japanese media.
I don’t really think there’s a single “right” way to learn a language, but repetition definitely has to be a core part of it. Some people say you shouldn’t learn kanji without learning words, others say you should do both at the same time, and some even recommend learning kanji before vocabulary (which I did, but I wouldn’t fully recommend it nowadays).
I still use Anki even today because I’m not at a level I’d consider fully satisfactory yet, though I use different decks now.
