We are meant to be tested in this life and if we read about how the prophets used to live, we will understand that they were tested too and even more than anyone of us.
In the following verse it is mentioned how God tests people. Which one would you choose, if you were to choose?
2:155 Al-Baqara
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ
And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives (beloved people or relatives) and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,
So we shall thank God for the light test he is giving us.
