Although there were multiple reasons to fire him on the spot, in the end the director softened up and agreed to a final written warning. However, the person going through disciplinary spent the whole 45 minutes I spoke with him, still blaming everyone else like he did during the disciplinary hearing, and taking no accountability for his actions - almost like he hasn't been the head chef of the same kitchen for 17 years and was a martyr instead.
I sympathised with some things he said at the time and the fact he had been waiting on an outcome for a few days, but in hindsight I was way too nice 😅
