I’m not sure about SA, but I have been following Aidan Morrison who has been pulling apart the AEMO Integrated System Plan and I know it’s been mentioned in there that they want more control over rooftop solar and potentially charging owners rather than buying excess back. But yes probably better to have. I can see all the Boomers getting it and patting themselves on the back for saving the planet and lowering their energy costs whilst further disconnecting them from the economic realities everyone else faces.

It'll do fine for offgrid, you don't use just one energy source, but trying to run everything electric like a big modern house with everything, heh have fun... I hope you like spending on redundancy to cover the down time.
