Like Bip39 (human readable seed word abstraction) wasn’t even proposed until late 2013 - just proposed, not even widely adopted. 2017 bitcoining we goofy AF but pre 2017 bitcoining was fucking calamitous. Like I had a “missed opportunity” to turn to bitcoin in 2013, but that would have sent me straight to MtGox and I wouldn’t have even questioned that as I was Magic: The Gathering adjacent kid in middle/high school. I can only shudder to image the mental damage that being caught up in MtGox would have done to me. The result would be that I’d probably be a bitter, black pilled bitcoin hater with no Bitcoin at all. Now is the absolute best risk-adjusted time to get into bitcoin. Someone starting today who stays humble, stacks sats, and takes self custody could easily wind up with more bitcoin that many people who first touched bitcoin in earlier waves. #plebchain
