Just like if you spend most of your time away from your family you should not expect to have a good relationship with your family. Just like if you spend most of your time not practicing something, you should not expect to be good at doing that thing. What you put in you will get out.

Well that seems like an unreasonably harsh reply. I think we just have different ideas about what "most of your time" means. My guess is you're not meaning >12h/day which is what it literally would mean.
