Art is pure subjectivity, a true artist is just someone willing to engage with their experience at a level of flexible criticism, to dare to declare something is bad and that it could be better. Yes, absolutely some art is just bad. But what makes it bad is always relational: it fails relative to what it’s attempting, or to the depth of engagement it invites, or to the integrity between intention and execution.
