Makes it harder to follow any conversation thread. Quote replies ought to be for when sharing a new thread of discussion based on some other post. Replies ought to be used when continuing a discussion thread in context. Can always simply repost a reply to boost it into the main feed.

To add to that, the quotes can become impossible to find after the fact since it's a one way reference. The OP gets a notification that they've been quoted, but that's it.

It's what you get when you put a bunch of people who enjoy bucking the system in the same social network 😂 As soon as there's a judgement on what 'should' be done, it'll immediately be done the opposite way.
