I quit a seemingly perfect dink lifestyle in my mid thirties, because ultimately my biological clock kicked in and my partner's still hadn't. Time was running out.
I soon found my soulmate, but things were complicated for years, with a lengthy divorce, and family court proceedings. We couldn't get married until I was 40, but at least I had a younger wife to finally have children with. Only within a year I ended up with an aggressive cancer that had already spread. By the time I got a diagnosis, treatment had to begin right away to save my life. It was only after chemotherapy had begun that I was told it would leave me infertile.
To cut a long story short, I now have a miracle of a strong, healthy, happy, smart and inquisitive 3 year old boy.
There's no sign of a sibling on the way, but I am obviously extremely grateful for being alive and having a child I dreamed of for so long.
Miracles do happen. Just don't stress about it. 🫂
