I have been using IPFS for a while and I do feel that it could help for more decentralized storage, but seeing what happened with the latest updates, I think that network still needs more development, because with only one update that was made to the file cube, many of the nodes stopped responding to previous nodes and trying to change everything you stored from a node with an old version to a newer one is not very intuitive.

That’s a very fair point. The fragmentation between node versions and the lack of seamless migration is definitely a hurdle for IPFS right now. It shows that while the tech is promising, the infrastructure layer for Nostr still needs more 'battle-testing' before it becomes the standard.
