In fairness, Nostr is going to have a lot of people using it that you don't like. Business owners are naturally going to funnel people toward their businesses. That's sort of the nature of the beast, like with Bitcoin. I do agree though. It seems like one giant circle jerk at this point. And anyone who critiques any of it is shunned or accused of loving drama. But drama is just fine within the club when it's directed at something that isn't one of the club products or people. It does get boring.

I like how Reddit has both upvote and downvote functionality, so we can offer input without just blocking. Wasn’t trying to annoy anyone with that donation promo post but I can see how it could have come across to someone that already sees promotional stuff as annoying.

I’m sorry, my message came off as pretty douchey towards you. Some of the people in that list have been pretty nasty to me personally over the last six months, and IMHO are not as wonderful you may think they are. I've had a peek behind the curtain, and some of it really isn't pretty. But if you speak publicly about things you've observed, conflicts of interest, etc. you'll be accused of creating drama, labeled a "bad faith actor" (whatever that means) and they'll encourage others to treat you as a persona non grata. They're #1 concern is that the money keeps flowing, though they'll constantly signal otherwise that it's all about freedom, open source, "staying humble", etc.

Legend is what the Primal app labels a donor that gives $1k and gets premium features for life. I’m happy to contribute for great features. My post was a play on that “Legend” label in the app. The release was only a day or so ago, so not many have done it yet, and Primal doesn’t really put it out there. But I found it buried in the premium area as a feature and wanted to highlight it so people might be inclined know they could support it. I looked for the people that had also donated and shouted them out for donating, and tried to encourage others to join in, on what I see as a grass roots funding ability. I did it in a marketing and branding kind of way. What I didn’t calculate for was looking like a tool to anyone that didn’t know what I was talking about. 🤷‍♂️ But that’s the rub of nostr. You can have a contextual conversation over here, and your words squirt out over there too. Great that it’s free and open, but it’s also a bit cumbersome still.

A man should not talk nonsense. A man should not repeat other people's nonsense. No one is a legend. A man can thank sponsors, but he should not lick their boots.
