Every Enshrouded update be like that.
Nobody even knows what they are. Sounds like a Star Trek thing 🤭
Beam me up sum smol shaders scotty.
Looked it up, are you a Linux expert? I really know the least out of anyone here lol
Bahaha not at all. No idea what they even are. I just know that every time I open a game on the steamdeck (Linux device), I have to wait for it 😂
How is the steam deck? I want one
Phenomenal honestly
Vulcan shaders are the process by which proton parses textures and lighting in games on Linux.
Vulkan isn't a Linux thing. It's cross platform. People associate it with Linux because most use DirectX on Windows
Proton is specifically a compatibility layer for linux. Vulkan can be used in tessellation translation but that is again only useful in Proton. So, while technically correct this is like saying silverware has nothing to do with food. When it's main usecase is eating food with it.
Yes, but Vulkan exists natively for Linux and can also be used on Windows. While the meme relates to the slow loading in proton, vulkan shader processing still occurs but only on 1st load and is saved to the hdd
hahah yeah it's a killer to your gaming libido after that big ass download too
We have to do some steamdeck tinkering with arc again
Yup... you can use something called lossless scaling to achieve better framerates which is kinda king in every game. But it also has the potential to make your game look like shit I'm guessing so we'll have to be careful. You'll probably see yourself adjusting a little of your playstyle to adapt to it. Honestly though... biggest push is gonna come when Steam Machine comes out and you're hitting beyond 60fps continually. And then if you learn the keyboard+mouse too :LUL: - the SD just wasn't made for something as graphically intense and competitive as ARC sadly :/ -
I'm kinda tempted to somehow find you a Playstation key for ARC if I can. Because @puzzito is sitting on a literal treasure of a gold mine for cross-play and cross-progression gaming with that ps5, I'm not saying you should exclusively play ps5/psn now though! Just that you utilize the ps5 to play the game... but you still control it all over the steamdeck. Would be the cheapest way to get you a new pc without getting you a new pc.
Ugh I hate the ps5 for some reason and it would be my joy to ignore it
Likewise... but if you want a solid 60 FPS & you wanna see people, you might have to :( - But don't fret! It's extremely easy and you'll feel like a hardcore cypher afterwards for punching random numbers and addresses into your steamdeck and ps!
Also rocket league could be played on your ps too, remember... the ps just needs to be on and connected via ethernet to the router if do-able. It doesn't even have to be connected via video/hdmi once this is going. The steamdeck will be 'remote playing' the ps5
I'm such a sadist that I got the game on ps5 so I could remotely play it in bed or around the house.
I'm kinda excited for steam machine and your TV being 144hz though! That's like probably 1/3rd of the cost of your TV... the 144hz capability! So we HAVE to make use of it, definitely with the steam machine and going forward! (the steamdeck can do 90, but hardly ever reaches that number at least for the triple A titles) ((also the bigger the number with FPS/refresh rate/hz the better))
also we're on the corrrrrrrrn
the tangy genital discourse went down :"( I'm prob going to roll one or two for the day and also for... GOOD THINGS FESTIVAL!!! (music fest tonight!)
