I get mad when other bitcoiners have money to buy when they KNEW I wanted that bitcoin!
I think this step was inevitable. Once it became the obvious store of value, they had to adopt it but to try frame it as an asset to be held by governments and institutions. That will delay the normies realising it is also a method of exchange.
I have posts going way back saying we shouldn't even be ok with the ETF before it was legit... But, here we are today.... One day people will see that voting is used against us directly and government is only good at fucking things up for "we the people" KYC bitcoin businesses arnt any better either, generating tax dollars and data for the government to use against us...
I feel like the arguments here are tenuous. Obviously the US is not going to go the way of El Salvador. They could theoretically try to influence the bitcoin-core codebase, but if it got bad enough nodes just switch to using a new codebase.
