Sadly, this is what happens in a globalist system where 1) international fraudsters can fake degrees/credentials and 2) where massive corporations don’t need to offer anything besides pay for loyalty (eg: respect, promotion opportunities, loyalty in return, retirement) This is coming from a man that switched careers in his early 30s out of moral rejection of some implications of his previous line of work. I was once the guy people come to Nostr to avoid and didn’t know it until I learned more about how the data I analyzed was collected.

I'm so depressed to engage in a chat right now. They say "never is too late", "follow your heart" and such empty quotes. All of them are impractical.

So, in my circumstance, I had 2 kids with a 3rd on the way when I made that switch. But I also had a nest egg and an extremely intelligent and wonderful wife to lean on for that transition. I feel your pain because I know the same struggle you are facing. In a fair world, I’d be a full time singer and writer. But the world is not fair. The “follow your dreams” boomerslop is just that—boomerslop. “Just get BTC”… with what fiat money? I am busy paying rent. “Just use Nostr”… well, I am. But I’m not getting zaps enough to cover my rent right now. I am not set enough that I can dabble and put in such time that I have for the things I love here on Nostr and elsewhere. If I didn’t have the wife I have when I made the switch, I would be where you are now and I would have been forced into fiat debt servitude like most zoomers who didn’t come from money. This is why I expect a Revolution. The more zoomers who keep applying to jobs and not getting hired, trying but failing to start their own businesses only the be regulated/shadowbanned/gatekept, and then they see Hispanics/indians that can’t even speak English in all the jobs they were “not qualified for” just last week… They will revolt.
