This is the first summer I'm wearing the clothes that I sewed on my own, it's a beautiful feeling! Linen, hemp, and cotton are good fabrics for the heat; silk is good for special occasions; I guess one of the best things about making your own clothes is that you can finally say goodbye to all the polyester. #sewing #naturalfabric

Ahhh this is goals. I wish I knew someone who could teach me. I know there's always YouTube, but I learn so much more when I can be hands on!
I'm also a hands-on learner, but there are many great tutorials online for learning how to sew, all you really need to do is learn how to thread the sewing machine (or hand sew) and do basic seams. What I've learned is that sewing is actually maybe like 20% of the work in making a garment, and is the easier step! The whole process starts with choosing fabric, thinking about what to make/drawing a pattern, washing, ironing (lots!), cutting, then sewing.
