My sister just asked a question which I wasn’t sure how to answer:
I’m all for moving away from government power. But surely there will be someone that ends up with the power even with Bitcoin. I’d rather they be elected official even if they’re shit.
Can anyone help me verbalise what I want to say here?

I have wondered about this same question. It seems that wealth and therefore power is still concentrated in the hands of relatively few. And they may have no qualifications other that being early to Bitcoin. Is this a problem?
Yeah for a start it’s still not the same- as they can never manipulate the money system to benefit themselves and hinder everyone else
But I also don’t think it’s anywhere near as concentrated as people think (companies like coinbase hold around 2 million but they will be millions of different people for example)
I dunno though I guess I need to dig into the distribution a bit more.
I think my question from this is what will this mean for companies like Strategy eventually (they “only” have about 3% so far)? What kind of power will they have? Will they just become like a bank- or will they be able to make political decisions etc. I’m still confused by what happens when there is little government intervention etc
