what/why were you torrenting on someone elses infra ?
What was the film, billy
Hehehe, I promise you it wasn't anything too spicy. So anyway, I initially set up a Nostr relay on the server and everything was fine. But as soon as I started torrenting they got upset. And even when I stopped, they falsely accused me of carrying on. I think they just wanted their server back so they could rent it to someone else.
I think you got caught torrenting porn. That's on you. Nymbox did nothing wrong. I actually support the action. Your ISP should ban you from the Internet completely.
You may think whatever you like.
The conclusion I arrived at was that there is no such thing as privacy when you use someone else's server.
I hesitate to ask, what do you think "privacy" is exactly? and is there a single dictionary in all of human history that maintains that definition?
To correct you here. You run a public tracker which violates our Terms of Service. we suspended your VPS, unsuspended it after you told us you will fix it and a day later you started it again.
Wrong. We showed you the proof and you told us your VPS got hacked.
There is privacy as we do not have access to your server, we do not collect any personal details. You loose it when you run a public tracker for example and we receive Abuse notifications.
Is it permissible to use torrents for personal use, or is it considered unsafe on your vps service?
As I said we havenothing against torreting as long as you do not run a public tracker. This info is public available and you should read it before you order a service.
We have written all infos in our Terms of Service whoch you agree during the order process and also our Acceptable Use Policy.
We are not a bulletproof provider, this info stands on our main website under FAQ and we are also not an DCMA ignoring provider. When you still do it you violate our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy which you did twice. Even after we have unsuspended your server you run all that stuff again. And then you told us your server os maybe hacked.
As long as you run a private tracker we are okay with it.
Inside job? Seriously? Come on
At least be a man and say, ok I did it.
💀💀💀 lmao
hehehe Im laughing because as you point out, that's pretty ridiculous as well. Best of luck to you with the business - I'm getting some bits n bobs to help me set up a personal server at home to host my own files and possibly a nostr relay, so I'm sure we're both happy with the outcome. VPN seems to be a much more convenient way for me to torrent too.
All the best and good luck on Nostr.
No worries about oue business. We have tons of happy customers 😉
No one believes you, Billy, least of all me. Just fess up and ask for forgiveness
