Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a guard, were martyred for their faith in Singidunum (Belgrade) during Licinius' reign. Ermil openly confessed his Christianity, while Stratonic secretly believed. When Ermil was tortured, Stratonic wept openly, revealing his faith. Both were condemned. Ermil endured further torment, while Stratonic was granted a moment of peace to prepare. They were then drowned in the Danube River.
