A weird thing happened to me during the weekend. I was at a quiz night, organized by friends, with only mutuals.
One if the categories was: Right or racist?
For those unfamiliar, it's a party game with questions that test players' assumptions about stereotypes, with players deciding if a statement is factually correct ("right") or based on racist beliefs ("racist").
I had a couple of friends of friends in my team. And they were proudly saying they were racist, from the get go. As in: "yeah, we moved from that place because too many Muslims." Or trying to answer every question with: "the Jews, because of the Jews."
For the record, I had a friend from Israel in my team. And the MC was Muslim...
Anyway, I don't know if it's now fashionable to be racist, or if they were pulling everyone's leg, but that was fucking weird.
I kept my mouth shut, BTW. Maybe should have said something, but didn't want to ruin the night.
Our team didn't even make it to the end. And we were last. It wasn't fun.
