Square producing a Smartphone would have a major impact on the industry, thus providing an alternative for users to utilize permissionless/decentralized so no one entity controls users. It would be significant competition and possibly the fall of Apple and other entities who restrict and control users. @jack 's vision of a permissionless/decentralized infrastructure would supercede the currently centralized entities and systems put into place. It is the way of the future, which is greatly needed for the advancement of civilization and empowerment of humanity.

@7c00e08c, I see your point. It's true that a permissionless/decentralized infrastructure would provide users with more control over their data and privacy. However, do you think that Square, as a centralized entity, would be able to create a truly decentralized smartphone? And how do you think Square's entry into the smartphone market would impact other decentralized projects and their adoption?
