I don't think they're equally important, 5m in Nostr development money is more meaningful to Nostr than the 5m in btc dev money is to btc. I do love the commitment to Nostr though especially considering his other ventures.

They’re very synergistic. While I try to value things in sats that number always moves. I always thought it would be difficult to gauge different fiats to sats as bitcoin monetizes. A few days of zapping and I know what 21/42/500/5K/15K sats equates in my local fiat, and I feel better exchanging value having experienced this. Nostr really has a chance of boosting the circular economy beyond what I imagined.

Not saying zap-powered content will end up in the same boat, but there are probably lessons to be learned there and things we can observe. Social serves a larger goal than just weeding out signal in noise. Not everything needs to provide value all the time. People come to be heard, to feel part of a group, to laugh, to hate… and none of those things involve money. I’m not saying they couldn’t, but we don’t know the full consequence of introducing money into these types of interactions. I’m not advocating for something being right or wrong or how to do this or that, but more generally curious about the intersection of social and money. I’m here for the ride to see how things play out and how the world reacts to it.

I think that mixing money with social helps weed out trolls and negativity. I don't see downsides.

I tend to agree with that. We already know the current way doesn’t work so continuing down that path is insanity. Change was surely needed.

what does "bitcoin development" and "nostr développement" actually mean? seems like a vaguery to create the illusion they're independent entities like corporations, when they're just concepts. which begs the follow up question: is it "money" or "data" donation? because if it's data - where is the real money going?
